Thanks Andy for your detailed response. I am in an area of poor internet service and my response was really delayed in getting to you.

I'd bet one of two possibilities based on what you told us.
1. Low coolant level. LX does have a low coolant light but does yours work? Low coolant could starve the thermovalve.
2. Bad Thermovalve. Randy D has them in stock.

I have always checked the site glass on the reservoir and the coolant level indicates full. Do my "low coolant or coolant temps" light come on? no. Do they work... I assumed so but when I turn my ignition key on those two and the trans temp lights do not come on. The oil pressure, parking brakes and antilock brake lights do come on however. Seems odd that three of the six come on and three do not. Do all six of your warning lights come on when the key is switched on?

I do not remember, but when my coolant got low once do to a leak in a hose, it came on.
If it's in the sight glass you are fine.
