What was worse the operations or Nurse Heckman lol Just kidding but John was relentless . Who knows without his oversite you may not have that hand . Many loose there hand and die I heard when i shared the story with some Docs . Glad you avoided both scenarios

Heckmom was concerned and i am glad he was.
He was in touch every few days and i think him for it.
When the doc came in the first night (3am) he told me this was iffy,that he would try to save my finger,my hand.
But if i woke up without it.....
When i woke up i looked at my hand,i had all fingers and i had drains coming out of my palm,and IVs going into my hands.
My hand was as big as a baseball cathers mitt.
I got lucky,i got the right doc,and i had good nurses,they took care of me.
Plus once i got home Carol took care of me.

He must have seen the same movies because he never forgot that lesson. At 74 he still wrenches from time-to-time - with all his fingers - on the Commemorative Air Force's B-25.

Friends and family can be a great blessing. We are glad it turned out well.
