It finally happened. I went with a friend to pick up Collins 1980 33fc from Houston. It had been sitting for about 3 years. Needless to say there was some work to get it road worthy. The batteries were shot so those were replaced. Fluids all checked ok so we fired it up. It ran like a top right from the start. After a few minutes we even had air with no issues. I have been lurking in the shadows for as long as this coach has been sitting so when I spotted this for sale I jumped. We left Houston at 4:30 in the afternoon and traffic was such that it took four hours to go eighty miles. We didn't stop until two in the morning in Wichita Falls. The next morning we stopped and bought a generator and put it on the roof. So we had air conditioning. I had my doubts until then about what I had done. After that it was great. So after traveling 1300 miles in two days and trying to figure everything out it still is like a dream. There is lots of work to do and things to fix so the questions will start with a fury. Thanks to all for the great forum that helped make my decision. Even my wife is starting to like it.

Congratulations! My first Wanderlodge was a 1981 33'. I think those early '80's Wanderlodges were built back when the Luce family still controlled Bluebird and the emphasis was on a home away from home for hunting, fishing, sporting events and travel. Not like the way Wanderlodge ended up as a glitzy, gaudy, show coach. I always admired the early coaches at the rally in the valley. Lots of pride in ownership. Good luck and I hope your Wanderlodge rewards you with many hours of enjoyment. Dan
