Default Randy has an Oops

Randy:
With turpentine, it would sting a little wouldn't it?

So, being the age that you are, the things you have done, what have you learned from all of this?? LOL

Let the hand heal before you do any more harm to it.

Thats good news Randy. You probably would do this without being told but I'd check on in every 4 to 6 hours. Take a look and make sure the color is good and it's improving. From now until 2 tomorrow is a long time if something isn't doing well. You probably are on the mend now but Mom says make sure and look at it or have Carol. Some times it's better to let some air get to those things but that's something the Dr should direct you about. If it's to be covered keep it so but not too tightly and check.

I've got people with extractions that rinse and spit and fuss with the extraction sights and cause more trouble. The body is an amazing machine and will heal some real nasty stuff. BUT I tell people that pain that gets worse instead of better and swelling that gets worse and if you develop a fever you need to get immediate attention. With tooth extractions the clue is if a day or so after the extraction it starts to hurt again you've got trouble. That happens fairly often and is much more likely depending on how difficult the extraction. I don't know fingers but it's gotta be some what the same. If it's pink and not red and if it's feeling better you're good. But look.

Believe it or not, turpentine does not sting when used on cuts etc.
I used to get a product called "cut Heal" at the farm supply, good stuff, had turpentine as about a 50% ingredient.
Lots of cow and horse people used it and i used it on dogs and on myself.

Bill,i'm doing just what the docs says to do.

What did i learn?
I learned that the simplest tool can still bite you.
Who would ever think a simple grease gun could cause this much trouble?
Millions of grease guns are used everyday, but all you need is one malfunction and you can be crippled.
Think of this, the beginning job in a garage is the oil and grease guy,the rookie, put them under the cars, dump the oil and grease it,a mindless act.
But still a deadly job.Or it can be..

I have never had a tooth pulled!
But i understand the lesson.
Good idea to check it every few hours,i will do that.
I have all my fingers (teeth too) and i have had some serious damage to my fingers through the years.
nails torn off,stitches,broken fingers,burns.
I have never been worried about any of them healing, but this grease thing is enough to make you think.
My daughter is an RN,shes seen some of the stuff i have done to myself, she just shakes her head.
She has not seen this damage yet, have not even told her about it.

So,here i sit,watching the day go by.
Carols planting trees.
Greg the painter is painting on a Bird i have here.
I need to get busy,my website needs me!

Thanks for the concern Heck-man.

Default finger

Randy just saw this post. Sorry to hear what you have been going thru. Air can be a nasty thing and then add grease to it not good.
Sit back and enjoy the holidays. Mark will be down by the first. Just don't let Donna near the wound.. Take care and heal fast my friend. Jerry and Reta
