Default 97 Remodel Going On Here

Have A Nice 97 WLWB getting a few upgrades, getting vinyl plank flooring in the living room, new table where DS sofa was, new solid surface top trim at entry step, new refrigerator, step now workin like a new one, great lookin coach.

Does anyone know what to do to a entry door when it doesn't unlatch easy, and you have to push in to get the latch to release?

It may be like mine. The hinge is so worn out that the door doesn't hang at the height where the latch lines up. I'm in the process of installing a new ss hinge.

Tim,

When my door does this it is because the two screws (may be hex) on the side of the door holding the latch become just a little loose.

Another beautiful job Tim.

Have you checked to see if that door has been slammed with the latch closed? I really doubt the hinge is worn enough to cause a problem as you describe. Might just need a good lube job.

Hey Tim,good to hear from you!
I have repaired many door latchs on Birds, the latch itself gets a little sloppy and i tke it out and either weld a place or drill a hole and put a small screw in place.
I'll look for a thread.

Default Door Latch

Thanks Guys ,
It was kind of a loaded question. I'm gonna post pic of the fix.

Just one screw will fix the problem, but has to be the right kind of screw, As in the pic, a washer headed screw, not a screw with a washer.
The issue is the linkage leans over in the slot and doesn't move both pieces of metal the same

I used a tec screw and cut the tip off after I drilled it in, cant be tight against the linkage, the linkage still has to move
