Default 1984 PT40 from Houston to Tampa

Hello all. I recently purchased a PT40 in Houston, with the help of Bill Steckert. Please see my update here from the craigslist ad: http://www.wanderlodgeownersgroup.co...4+PT40+Houston

Things are going well, we have taken the bird out for its first trip with a good friend who also has a 1984 PT40 "Big Deal". We took it to a campground close by for a shakedown. Had to fix a few things and figure out how other things work with the complicated plumbing system. Found out that the toilet valve is leaking, so I have a new toilet and will be replacing that today. The water fill valve for the fresh water tanks was stuck on so I was able to free that up and get it to close. Also found out that someone had turned the switch on to purge the water heater, so we were not getting any water from the hot water side. Also realized that battery charger was not working. Have since diagnosed it and found out that it was not properly connected and also I believe they have installed the incorrect fuse sizes. Have topped up the cruise airs with refrigerant and converted the center one to R407C, so they are all working well. Cleaned the indoor coils which were heavily clogged. Next hurdle is to figure out why I have no dash lights, especially the instrument lights. I will tackle the electroluminescent dash lights after I get the instrument lights working. Am headed to the space coast in a couple of weeks, so I just had tires changed on it. I have a 1986 MCI coach that I am converting to a motorhome and I had new tires put on it. Since it will not be used for a bit, I decided to take the tires off of it and put them on the Wanderlodge. Spent half the day yesterday at my local tire guy having them all swapped.

Welcome. I have an 84 PT36 and we both feel it might just be the best money we've ever spent. Hope you can make it to WOG. You'll learn more there in a week than you can take in. You'll also eat more there in a week than you might be able to survive.

Glad you got out of Houston when you did, cause they don't float very well.
