Anyone know why radiators and all the bracketry surrounding them are painted black? I have my Radiator apart and all the brackets are at sandblast. When they come back i have to decide what color to paint them.

I would say it's only so that you don't see it through the grille and is irrelevant relative to heat transfer through radiation. However you don't want the paint to block the conduction/convection heat transfer, so 'radiator black' is a very thin lacquer.

I don't plan to paint the fins, I am just going to paint all the framing and brackets a different color. My theme has been blue and silver.

In other news, I received my new Exhaust Manifolds today, one had a pretty long crack. The Vendor said they would replace it, it is shipping out tomorrow.

Today i faced my two exhaust manifolds, went well, one took .030" to clean up, and .025 to clean up the other. They are now flat within .001"
