Default Led porch lights

I just replaced my original porch lights ( thin lite 162 a) with thin light model 162p led. They use the same housing as the original lights however the mounting holes are farther apart. The original lights are 800 lumens the LEDs have two settings low 480 lumens and high 1600 lumens. I can now see to barbque. Dennis hight

Why not just swap out the fluourescent bulbs for led strips and keep the original housings?

John I just did that and when I told Michael Putz what I had done he had some reservations. The leds I put in were originally bought to replace indoor fluorescent thin-light fixtures. Michael wasn't sure how well these led strips would hold up in an outdoor fixture. I guess only time will tell. He does have weather proof outdoor led strips. I have a strip of everyday leds that Peter Haggins gave me that is mounted in the genny compartment and it receives the full blast of rain and bugs while driving. It's still working so I've got my fingers crossed

I did this one at Q last year. 1/4 of a $13 strip.

The ones below I did on a friend's Newell after Albuquerque last year. 1/8 strip each as they are smaller fixtures.
