Default BioDiesel update

Hi just got back from a month & half trip to Cedar key Orlando total of about 1350 miles. I produced 500 gals of BD. I started with a 1/4 tank of diesel added BD to top off. I carry 3 55 gal drums of BD added that in Orlando. the drums were on the trailer in front of the Gem electric car. I am so impress with the way the BB ran on the BD no smoke at all, quick starts, better power and gas milage. I changed the fuel filters half way as a precaution but they were clean as can be. using recycled Methanol it has cost me .65 a gal.
The really funny thing was I was in Cedar Key for a month and driving around I saw 5 gal cubies of waste oil in front of 3 restaurants I asked the owners and they said I could have it. so a month later I had collected 32 cubies!! thats 160 gals of oil I brought home to make over $600 worth of fuel !!!
Anyways if anybody wants more info contact me, this is not for everybody but it works for me

I run Biodiesel in my 06 dodge mega cab and love it. I to brew my own. I have not put any in the Bird. I need to get a spair fuel filter before I run B20 in the 500. I would highly recommend the spair filter. Biodiesel make a great solvent and will clean your tank.

Good to see Biodiesel in a Blue Bird.

I agree as to filters, but after 1300 miles at b100 no tank crud so far.
I plan to just change the filters at least once a month to keep an eye on it.
do you have any plans to use BD in your Bird?.
Also I have had great success with the recycled methanol at 1.65 gal save alot

I never knew there was recycled methanol. were do you get it?

I do plan to run B-20 in the BB. Maybe a higher blend in the summer. I just got the coach a few weeks ago. I want to make sure all is well with the engine first. So far so good.

Hi Bob what a pretty coach you have, 2003 I understand your concern, but if the fuel is wash & dried properly in my option it is better than the pump. with than said if you are driving in winter areas then b40 would work.
The methanol is recycled from a company that cleans computer boards it is 98% meth 2% ppg a solvent. at 1.65 it GREAT! they are located in Hickory NC
shoot me an e-mail if you need more info -guy

Hi There, I am starting to be curious about the Bio Diesel set up.
Will you be at the rally in Oct?
Wish there was class on it or if anyone has any links they can post for learning more about it and if any kits are best for a 1983 PT36 6V92 TA.
Thank you ahead of time!

That post was 10 years ago. You might want to start your own thread with your questions.

Hi it works great, it’s messy but the key is a oil source and methanol (I used recycled meth from a pool chemical supply. Much cheaper.
You can find used ones or buy new they are all about the same. For me 80 gals
Processor is perfect .

If you have the free time to make it (15 mins x 4 times a day ) my only concern is cost of fuel is much lower than when I was making it
Without my time it cost about 55 cents a gallon
If you want to talk my # is 8284564930 leave a message and I will call
Best of luck
