Default Eddie & Mac Ray

All:

Our good friends, Eddie and Mac Ray are experiencing some serious health issues. Eddie and Mac, as you know are at King's Bay Naval Base. Mac has been having some abdominal problems which resulted in hernia surgery Monday the 2nd. Following the surgery she became increasingly worse and had to be hospitalized again a couple of days ago. It appears that the physicians have determined she has an unidentified mass in her gastrointestinal tract. She is facing exploratory surgery in the morning. Eddie, as you also know has the beginnings of parkinsons disease. Eddie and Mac need prayers and support. Martha and I spent last week with them, but we are back home now.

I talked to Eddie just a little while ago and he is going to try to rest tonight and get back over to the hospital (East Georgia Medical Center, St. Marys/Kingsland, GA) early in the morning to meet with the surgeon.

Please lift them up with your prayers and thoughts and if some of you are close by to Kings Bay/St. Marys and can check on Eddie and Mac it would be gratefully appreciated.

If anyone should need more information, PM or e-mail me (tommy.rountree@yahoo.com).

Good News!

Mac went back into surgery this morning to determine the cause of a mass affecting her gastro-intestinal tract. Turns out the "mass" was scar tissue left over from a hysterectomy exacerbated by the recent hernia repair. The mass was removed and the scar tissue fixed. Mac will be in the hospital a few more days in order for her system to "correct itself". She is hooked to IVs providing fluids and drugs and a tube into her stomach to provide nutrients.

Martha and I have decided we going to head back down there to provide assistance and support for Eddie. He's been having a hard time and is about as stressed out as one could be.

Thanks for everyone's help, prays and concerns.

While Mac is not quite "out of the woods" it appears she in on her way.

I'll keep everybody posted.
