Default More on chicken in Alaska

1. Chicken is a real town in Alaska, is known in the state for a blow out 4th of July, in the summer, population is about 100, 17 or so in the winter. To my knowledge there are no chickens in Chicken.

2. KFC in Anchorage has chickens.

3. 20 lb or so Halibut are called chickens.

Smile We paraded

We are basically close to Wasilla at Walmart. Will be coming back this way in a week or 10 days.

On the way, we joined Glennallen, Ak. 4 th of July parade. I played the musical horns. The people smiled, waved, and danced in the street. The children got a Big Bang as all of them were dancing while they smiled and waved.

My arm gave out waving back. If only Mr. Pig had been with me.

Oh yes---one lady ran up to the coach and gave me a present. A roll of toilet paper. I guess she thought I was full of it.

We had a similar experience in Wisconsin a few years back. Apparently they had not closed the street yet and we saw everyone in their chairs as we drove along, so I fired up "On Wisconsin" on the horn and entertained the folks. But I didn't get a roll of TP from anyone

Default North to AALASKA

Anyone heading north to Alaska, be warned of the many forest fires in British Columbia.

Since the Alaska highway also runs through Canada, there are fires raging there too, and the highway is closed, Prophet River, Fort Nelson area.

Check for BC forest fires as most of the routes with lead north/south have been closed.

There are currently 171 forest fires.

Smile Anchorage

Wow---Keith gave us the 15 cent tour.

From the top of the mountain over looking Anchorage and Turnagain Arm, airport, Earthquake park, down town and of course the Burger Place.

The tour was fantastic.

Kieth wanted to talk Bluebird, so I took 30 seconds and told him everything I knew.

Onward and upward
