Default 50 amp power cord replacement

I had a slight mishap with my power cord rewind that decides when it feels like working. I now need to replace my power cord. I've looked online but it's hard to tell from the pictures if it has the heavy rubber cover my current cord has. Does anyone have a good source for a replacement cord?

Are you looking for just the cord or the whole powered unit? If the whole thing, I have read on here that Glendinnig was the company BB used for our coaches.

Just the cable. The power unit works fine when it works. It sometimes rewinds. I left the rewind switch on the last time it didn't work, and you guessed it, it started working and wore through the rubber cover, and of course mid way through the cord.

Why would you replace only the cord if the old unit "works fine when it works"?

If what's causing your intermittent operation is the switch & you find/fix that you could get just the cord. However if there's even a slight chance your unit is bad, you should get a new one. A new quality cord will be close to $400 while the CRR-50 with 50' of cable is around $600 (https://www.rvupgradestore.com/rv-el...eels-s/116.htm). When I found a short in my cable, I went the completely new unit route. Then I cut the bad 15' off the old cable, added a Camco female end and now I have a nice 30' extension cord. It's nice never having to worry where the power box is when parked (Note the box location & reason for reversing direction at the site pictured below ). It's up to you but saving $200 hardly seems worth the aggravation. Either way you need to check that switch & the wiring to/from it... Or risk the same thing happening again. Just the opinion of someone who's been-there-and-done-it

I think you should check with Glendinning before you buy,i think that the Glendinning cord real requires a really flexable cord, and maybe with the right texture on the casing.

I had an 'incedent' with my 50A cord and replaced it with one from ebay. Was kind of disapointed when I got it since the insulation was thinner than the original.

Worked out better in the end though as I could fit a full 50' of the thinner cord on the reel!

Still 6 ga wire, the outer jacket is a little thinner...

IIRC it was about $100 for the 50'

I took Randy's advice and bought the correct replacement cable from Glendinning. It was $280 with 2 day shipping. I had ordered a 50' cord from ebay and thought the same thing as Joe (ordered 50' thinking I could load more cord). Thanks for the input and wish me luck on the replacement. It may cost me a few beers for my 6'2 170lb son with extremely long arms.

Long skinny arms will come in handy on this job.
