Default Help: Dupree valve seal lodged

Help:

The rubber seal stripped out of the paddle on my Dupree dump valve, and lodged in the tank-side of the waste pipe. It is sitting flush with the opening. The tank is currently empty.

Any hints for fishing the seal out?

Had this happen. I was able to get a long bolt with course treads and get tight enough to extract that paddle Essentially screwing into the part where the threads stripped out

I have the paddle. It's the rubber disk which pulled out the frame and stuck in the tank-side pipe.

Can you believe I only have one wire coat hanger in the coach!!

Yes medal coat hangers are becoming rare. I think you would want to just push that thing on into the tank if you can.

If I'm not mistaken it is a 3/8" x 14 thread, I just happen to pull a paddle out of mine last week. I did take a spare paddle with me to HD to match it up first. I guess you could use a continuous rod to thread in it if you can find the same thread.

How about one of these? Should be able to get one at NAPA.

I got one out of the drain side by putting a "Drain King" pressure bulb in the drain pipe.
It pushed it back where I could extract it with some super long needle nosed pliers thru the slide slot.

Fortunately when it happened to me, I was able to convince my wife with much smaller hands to reach in and grab it. Worked like a charm!
