Default 85 PT36 Through the Bumper Driving Lights

A buddy of mine want's to replace the driving lights in is 85 PT40. They are mounted right behind the bumper with a cut out right below the "step" in the bumper. I searched and read through about half of the "LED & Lights Upgrade" thread and couldn't find anything.

Looking at the quick parts guide I think they are part #2147114. But no other information is listed. I tried searching but have come up empty. I was going to swap them out at WOG, but I'll need to find a replacement. I won't have access to his bus until the rally, so I can't just measure them.

Any suggestions?

We have a 86 PT-38; here are the lights that are on ours. They are manufactured by Grote; we replaced ours a couple of years ago and was successful locating a new set on eBay for a minimal cost. Below is the web-site for Grote:

These were the original lights BlueBird used when manufacturing the units.

We will be on site 210 at Pine Mountain during the rally if you care to stop by and view.

Awesome! thanks for the link and info. I'll see what I can find for replacement. How well do they work? I think my friend would want an upgrade.

For what ever reason he ends up driving at night. Something that I try to avoid at all costs.

My experience with LED lights forces me to suggest your friend consider an LED light replacement. (Not sure what the Grote light is.) The old incandescent lights cannot compete with the amount and quality of the light the new LED lights put out. LED lights can be pricey. His bus his call.

I have LED headlights on my BMC and Rigid brand flood lights on my Jeep. No regrets.
