Default Parasitic drain

On the outlet of the water heater is a sensor with a single wire on it that energizes the relay for the water heater by grounding it when the heater is filled with water. This sensor energizes the relay even if the water heater switch is off and the circuit breaker for the heater is off.
I disconnected the wire and installed a toggle switch next to the water heater switch on the bed frame.
One more parasitic drain gone.
When you turn on the water heater, flip the toggle switch.

Is that sensor 12V or 110V? If 110, could you possibly power that circuit off the water heater power switch? One fewer switch to remember...
