Default Bluebird History

I would appreciate it if you guys could fill in some dates (years would work) for the chronological buy/sell history of Wanderlodge. I might need this in the near future when dealing with some gov't regulations. So far I have the following without dates. Like I said just the years would probably suffice. Can you fill in the blanks? Thanks

In the early 90's Merrill Lynch bought BB from the Luce family. 8 years later Henlys group bought BB from Merrill Lynch, Henlys was partly owned by Volvo and when Henlys went Bankrupt Volvo took over so as not to lose their investment. Volvo sold to Cerabus, Cerabus split Wanderlodge off from the Bluebird School bus and Complete Coach Works (CCW) bought it.

I was watching rather closely when deciding whether or not to buy a BB. I believe when Henlys went under, Volvo kept Prevost, but divested all ownership in BB to a leveraged buyout from principals of BB plus some other investment. (this was the management that spoke to RATS in 2006). This new group lasted a very short time and when they couldn't handle it, it went into a quick bankruptcy like GM and came right out with Cerebus buying it. Then came CCW. You should be able to get dates from Google.

Rob, here's a couple of links that may be authentic sources for the dates you may need in the future.

Default Cardinal Manufacturing...Wanderlodge

Rob, the article below also gives a summary of historical events in Blue Bird history.

http://www.autoevolution.com/trucks/blue-bird/history/

It's interesting to note reading from the above article, that in 1963, the Wanderlodge plant opened under the name of Cardinal Manufacturing.

Anybody know when the Cardinal Manufacturing name was dropped?

According to my conversation with Buddy Luce, the first two Wanderlodges were subcontracted to another company for interior work. That company did it during a slow period, the coaches were sent out on a yearlong national sales tour without a single sale, then a bit later the article appeared in House Beautiful or some similar mag and the idea took off with 7 sales in prompt succession. This was a year or so later and when Bluebird went to the subcontractor to fill the new orders, they were busy by this time and could not take on the work, so the new plant was developed to do it in house.

Bill I was preparing to present a logical argument to Transport Canada. Turns out we don't have to do that any more. I believe that the recent imports of Peter Haggins and Stephen Birtles have had something to do with the fact that the Bluebird Bus company is now issuing recall clearance letters for any coach built prior to the sale of Wanderlodge in 2007. Mr Bill Coleman at BB is the contact person.

Rob:
Way to go on your new purchase. I am sure the three of you will enjoy it very much. You know you were welcome to use our coach LOL

I don't think I need the recall letter but I might as well have one too. If there is anything that wasn't right, I will make sure that it is.

Would you have Bill Coleman's email address or telephone number?

Safe travels to you all.
