Default grey carpet-like wall covering

We bit the bullet, and removed the non functioning SPLENDIDE WASHER/DRIER. I can now see why it wouldn't dry...it was vented to a flex hose which exited at the wheel well. The hose was about 8 ft long to go about 2 feet...it tok many turns and kinks and was probably 90% obstructed.

any how, i finished up the cabinet with plywood, making 3 new storage shelves, but now need a source and a name for that grey carpet like stuff they put on the walls and shelves. Home depot does not have it. any ideas??

Ted our local Salvation Army Store has a ton of that stuff, in various colors, blue, tan & gray, and assorted other colors. I think they got it from a closed out van conversion shop here in town. I can check on pricing info if you like. It has been there for months.

Ted
I got what I needed at an auto upholstery supply.
Any major city should have such,or check with an upholsterer.
I use spray 3M trim adhesive to attach it.

It is, indeed Ozite. almost indestructable material. You can install it by painting the backing and walls with contact cement.

Hmmm. I would like to lighten up the floors and walls of my cabinets. I don't like those dark gray interiors. Wonder how difficult it would be to cover that stuff with something lighter? Or fabric paint? Or maybe just to put something light in color, on the cabinet floors?

The original material is really stuck. You might have better luck with some spray paint.
