Hello everyone,
Making progress on my leaks, but I fix one and find two more. have fixed about 3 around the scrhader valve and did a little modification on the valve to make it easier to air up from the outside. Now I have a leak in a item above the wet tank. the pic below shows the thing that is leaking. ![]() It is just before the inlet to the wet tank. I have another leak around the air valve to the step, It looks like it is just the schrader valve, but I need to dig into it more. Will be working on that untill I find out what this other thing is. Thanks again for all of your help |

The leak at the step is from a brass "breather", does that mean that my step valve is leaking?
thanks |

I'm not sure because of the white crud on the item but it looks like a PPV (Pressure Protection Valve). If it is try tightening the four small screws on the top for temporary relief. Replace later.

Rob,
the white is bubbles from the soap/water spray that I was using to find the leaks. I thought it might be the PPV, this would feed the airbags? I will try to tighten as you suggested, but would like to replace too. There is not allot of room around it, do I have to remove the tank to get this off? Thanks much |

John if it is indeed a PPV then the machine screw heads are on the upper topside. If you have the room to rotate the whole PPV body (remove insulation if you have to) then you should be able to first disconnect the downstream line and then rotate the PPV body off the T-connection. You could do this to facilitate easier access to the screw heads or complete removal of PPV

John if your leak is from the "brass breather" it is the exhaust filter for either the step out or the step in exhaust. Once the step is either in or out there should be no leaks there. The "brass breathers" are actually sintered brass and in the middle of each one is a threaded screw that adjusted the speed of the step going in and out. Take the step valve apart and replace the small O rings and lube it and make it like new. Its easy just be careful taking it apart and putting it back together so you dont damage the gaskets.
