Default Our 1st B Trip

After many days of working on a very long list of to dos I finished up today with a change off Fuel Filters and for good measure changed the Air Filters also. Thursday we're off to the Mall of America. (That was a destination I was sure my Bride would agree to). The 1st stop will be the Salvage Yard in Missouri to see whats left of the two Birds there. Next is Big Rig Chrome Shop, so the Wife can look at train horns, in Joplin and then on to Downstream Casino for our 1st night. The following day up 71 to KC pick up I35 to Iowa for the 2nd night. Third day should see Bloomington Mn. I don't know how long we'll be there but after that on to WI and Il. Thats the plan but we all know about the best laid plans. Anything we need/have to see?

While you're at the salvage yard see if the guy will part with some side/bumper emblems. I've been trying to find some for my 83FC. At this point I'll take one or all.
Thanks

Default Our 1st B Trip

Brett:

If you are unable to find the BB name plates you want you might try a junk yard/recycling facility. I wanted some for my 94 WB but I couldn't find any. One day I passed a junkyard and there were a couple of old BB school buses waiting to be cut up. For $5.00 I got two of the original old big yellow plates. Mounted one on the front bumper and one on the back bumper. Also, you might try e-bay. I bought a reproduction big yellow plate with a tape backing that I mounted on thje top of the trim over the driver's seat. All of them have the list of mfg locations. I've gotten several lot of positive comments on the road.

Brett, I'll be glad to take a look for you. If he is willing to sell, how much to you want to pay?

So far so good! Left home this am and got to Colaws with out problems. They had an old Horn control box from the burnt 86. It looks ok. If nothing else its a good core. Brett, I could not find any BB emblems on either of the Wanderlodges. On the newer one there is a huge XXV on the side in stainless or chrome. Then on to the Chrome Shop where the wife controlled herself very well. She decided to wait to see if we have to spend a bunch for repairs when we get home. We're now at Downstream just west of Joplin. Down 50 bucks so far. We'll have dinner tonight and get out of here in the AM.

Spent last night in a Wal-Mart lot after stocking up on food and drinks. Heck I even bought a pair of short sleeve jeans. Today we finished up or outbound part of the trip and are sitting at a very nice park in Prior Lake, MN. Just before we got off of I 35 a very nice looking mid 80s pt on the east side of the road with a for sale sight in the window. The name on the bus was The Drifters. Anyone know about this rig? It looked to have new paint and a matching trailer was close by.
