Default Entry door gaps on WB's and LXI/LX's

I have noticed for years that the entry doors on the wide bodies and the LXI/LX's have a gap at the bottom,i have shimmed the gaskets before trying to stop air gaps/leaks and door rattles.
A few years ago i put a straight edge along the door frame (not the door) and the bottom was sucked in towards the frame of the coach.
At that time i thought that the door frame was installed on a not so straight wall.

Last summer i was thinking of a fix for this door gap and i realizied that there was no support back to the frame from the steps.
The stairs and the air step and all that corian and trim is just hanging off the floor of the coach,on any other brand coach it would have fallen off into the street.
On the steel Bird body it just sagged a little over the years, the sag makes the step area suck in towards the frame.

Yesterday i was under my coach and i made a "Jack" out of some square tube and a big bolt with a nut and 2 flat washers.
I welded the square tube to the air step frame and the end of the big bolt to a big brace under the coach and then i screwed the nut outward to push the bottom of the step area out.
With some groaning and creaking the bottom moved raight out and the door no longer has a gap at the bottom,by tightening the bottom gap the door also has a tighter top gap.
The door shuts better and i suspect there will be way less wind noise.
This is a very simple mod,all you need is a welder and some square tube and a big bolt.

Pics coming tonight..

My door had about a 1/4'' gap at the bottom, not now!

Our LX has the gap at the bottom. I'll add this to the TO DO list. Thank you Randy.

Well,err,umm.
Its all Carols fault!Ha!
Don't tell her i said that!
We were both covered up busy yesterday,it was still cool and Carols on a mission to get the vines cut out of the fence out front.
Theres no way i was going to go out front and ask her to stop (she may have me pulling vines).
I will get the pics this morning (if Carol lets me!)
