Btw Dana and Tony, some of those state/national forest campgrounds are self pay like Goober's Gas station I you're old enough to remember that. I carry a check book just in case.

Ditto on Eastbank. Also Ocean Pond (about 15 miles of Lake City) is awesome. Both are lakefront campgrounds. Inexpensive too.

Thanks again guys for all of your help.
The whole purpose for the trip/vacation is to explore areas for possible relocation when I retire next year. I figured we'd take the bird out and find a spot to put it so we had a drop zone at the end of each exploring day, that wasn't an overpriced germ infested hotel. I really don't have much interest in hanging around the campground, only at night. I was just going to rent a car from Pensacola, since we don't have a toad yet, and use that for the week. The bird is awesome to do over the road traveling but not so good at exploring neighborhoods and such. I swear, the closer my retirement date gets the more I change my mind on where I want to move to. I just want to be away from this unrelenting heat and insane traffic and I want to be more centrally located for travel purposes. I love the climate of TN, Ky, and the Virginias. I just don't want to make a bad decision , so I make myself insane instead. My apologies, bear with me.

And i am back at banging my head trying to find a state park in the panhandle to stay in maybe in April. All the ones in my search area are booked out till August, November and January 2021! Insane! If Port St. Randy wasn't so far away from where I am trying to be, I would just rent one of his many sites for the week.

Still haven't decided if I want to do the Randy thing and just put up a RV pad in FL to establish residency and live someplace else or just remain in the panhandle. Daughter is scheduled to leave in August so we can then sell the house and finally move!

Guess I need to invest in that Allstays app that was mentioned?
