I know you said idle is 750 rpm, but is the idle higher at startup than after it warms up? These transmissions are setup to not allow a shift if the engine rpm is sensed to be high. I don't know what the cut line rpm is, but I had an issue once that caused my idle to be just a little high and the tranny would not shift into drive. Scared me a little. I fixed the issue causing higher idle with help from Rick Davis (a fuel leak believe it or not - write up is somewhere here on WOG), and the tranny returned to acting normal and I left the campground a day late. No tranny problem since then. Just a wild guess, but maybe it is letting you shift to reverse, which then drops idle speed slightly and allows shift to drive. I'm no expert on this, but maybe... Best of luck with your repair!

Problem came back but all is good now. We took the ECU cables off, cleaned them up with a brass brush and some contact cleaner. Then used dielectric grease on both the plug & cable, all is well. Bus will go into gears, drive & reverse. We're ready to roll now.

Paul I am not sure, but I believe a call to progressive transmission in Jacksonville Fl and talk to Larry he will have an answer. Sean Dixon just had work done they are very knowledgeable.
