I had talked to doszorros about a week ago, and he's at the other end of the state where I am (I'm in the federal way area, he's near spokane).

I'm likely to give randy a call, it seems easier to contact him that way.

did you come in from the south or the north?

because I don't remember seeing any 'lodges going down I-5 from the north.
(I usually head to a park, three miles south of boeing field where I unwind before going in for the night that gives a great view of I-5 and train tracks).

We came up north on I-5. Walmart employees said we could not spend the night but us and 10 others slept well. We did clean up garbage around us though as a thank you. Sorry we missed you.

there's two walmarts in that area.
one is near a super 8, kfc and jack-in the box.
the other one is not too far from the transit center.

maybe next time...

unfortunately, due to my own schedule, I can only probably call you in the evenings. I'm on the west coast.

Randy is probably in the marketing sweet spot: instead of the using the dealer sales model with high overhead expenses and pressure selling he acts as an agent between buyers and sellers, just like a realtor. Instead of an expensive dealership he helps create an online community that supports the product and users.

Many (probably most) buyers and sellers of big ticket items want and need some expert advice on both ends of the transaction, and Bye Bye Bluebird fills this need. Randy does not buy and resell, he creates a curated marketplace between buyers and sellers.

This is probably the best future model for selling higher end and specialty products.

So, let me ask; if buying through a dealer, would it be wise to have the dealer (assuming they do service) perform a PDI? I am ambiguous about this; on one hand, the dealer has a vested interest in the PDI coming up negative, but he would also have a fiduciary duty to the buyer who paid for the PDI to identify any obivous, blatant, or serious problems, if only to protect himself against legal action. Or would an independent inspector be more appropriate, if one is available locally?
