Default Another Cracked Head?

Sitting in Meridian MS with what appears to be another cracked head. The engine has been running great and we were very happy with the inproved performance, but this morning the engine is locked up and coolant is dripping out of the left slobber tube. Last times it was the right tube. Both heads are brand new. I'm going to go buy a 3/4" rachet set and see if I can crank the engine backwards to drain the cylinder. Does anyone know which direction is reverse.

ouch,that sucks.
get it towed, don't try to back it up to get the fluid out,if you do and then start it you may cause more damage.
Remember, that fluid came from somewhere, and its not going to fix itself.

Isn't there a warranty for all the work you just had done? I wouldn't do anything until talking to them first, before any more damage is caused as Randy suggested.

Thanks for the replies. Talked to the shop that just did the work last month. They said everything would be fixed at no charge, but I'm 650 miles from the shop. The service manager recommended draining it by reversing the engined. He says if it stops smoking after a few seconds, it's safe to drive. Letting the engine sit is the problem(according to him).
I have to try, can't afford to have it towed that far.

if you blow it up by running it,will they warrenty a new block, plus towing?
Did you have a detroit shop do the work?
or an independent shop?

sometimes its cheaper to pay towing.

John
Bummer on your engine. Give Dale with Halls towing a call he can tow.
Halls pulled our 40' from Jackson Ms to Perry Ga for $2100 a distance of
422 miles shortest route however they had to route through Atlanta due to excessive legnth his wrecker 35' stinger 6' coach 40' for a total of 81'
way long they did a good job no additional damage and fast.
Dales direct line # 601-939-8365 or 1-800-748-9960
Good luck.

John and Nancy; sorry to hear the DD is leaking coolant into the one or more cylinders.
Do you have towing insurance? Do you have any estimate on how much coolant has been lost. Maybe your original repair shop will agree to have the new repairs done in a DD shop in or near Meridian, MS. Sorry your trip has been delayed.

Called again and the manager said it would be fine, they would pay for any damage. He recommend leaving the radiator cap loose. \Yes, they are a Detroit Diesel shop.

I've driven about 10 miles now and stopped to check coolant. Everything seems normal. I know towing would be best, but I'm kind of between a rock and a hard place. Gonna try to make 650 miles without shutting down. Looks like Q is out.
