We are leaving Monument Valley tomorrow and going to mesa verde. Any suggestions for a campground?

If you can arrive with empty sewage tanks and full water, stay at Mesa Verde Morefield Campground inside the park.

Two of the loops have sites long enough (barely). You have to pick and choose on the sites. There would be more sites avail, but they have high concrete blocks at the back of each site. You can back up to the block with your rear tires - but have a spotter looking under to make sure you don't ground onto the block (and again when you dump your air suspension). The earlier in the day you arrive - the better choices. There will be room in the dry camp areas, but hookup area is likely already booked.

Stay on the pavement, or on the gravel of the site - soft deep clay slick soil everywhere else. Don't try and back in off to the side of the concrete block or you may get stuck.

We stayed there the first week in August.

EDIT: There is a dump station on the way in and on the way out (both sides of the road). Nice large private showers (locking rooms) by campground store, a short drive from the campground.

I stayed at messa verde rv resort last month for a week. Was a very clean place. Full hook ups, nice people. We had a great time and would stay there again for sure.
