Default So What's the View Like Outside Your Window?

Perhaps this post should really be under "Reasons Why I Bought My Bluebird". Tom Sorrentino told me about Smith Point Campground--a county park on the south shore of Long Island.

Here's the view outside my bedroom window...

I am the only motorhome here (just 4 travel trailers in the whole park), but they told me I couldn't park head with my windshield facing the ocean, so I backed in at a 45 degree angle. My curbside windows are all facing the ocean, and the windshield looks out over the water on the other side of the campground.

Great campground, and only $29 a night. I have it all to myself, and the beach is just a few feet from my front door.

From the look of those breakers Jim I would plan on giving your baby a fresh water bath after you leave.

Glad your liking it there Jim. Is it open year round? How about those Jack Russells are they getting to strech their legs on the beach?

Yes, they are open year round but you have to fill your water tanks up nearby at the marina when they shut off the water for the winter. They do have 50 amp hookups though, which is not always the case with county parks.

I made the mistake of letting the dogs off the leash on the beach at sunrise this morning. Took quite a while and several treats to round them back up...

Ok.. there's gotta be a down side; Did you back in at 45 degrees or is that the outside high temp for the day?

Both!

It was upper 50's yesterday and then the storm came through with lots of rain and a 20 degree temperature drop. 40 mph winds, with gusts of 60+, but the coach was very stable and secure.

Believe it or not there were two surfers out there in wet suits just now (42 degrees). Here's a pic I just took at sunset with my iPhone...

When I came back to the coach there were two deer standing next to the coach. And yet my son doesn't really consider this "camping"!

Nice sunset Jim!

I'm hunkered down here in St.Petersburg waiting for the woman's doubles to start. Not many on the beach today, too cold...60s. No alligators to molest either! Surprised to see that sign, the thought never would have occurred to me!

Only cold wintertime in the foothills of the Appalachians right now but come the last of January, retirement for the J.B. Dogg family promises warmer climes.

It is not my coach window but it is a window.
Ice on the ground in Wausau, WI. 17 going down to 5. Was in the Buffalo storm yesterday. Joy. Headed for a heat wave in Philly tomorrow.
