Default Turn Signal Stalk

Kevin, I went to the bird today to round up the turn signal stalk, it did not have a part number. I also took it to the parts house with no luck. You may have to try a Volvo Truck dealership since it is not a Ford as I thought. Local truck parts house said it may be made by Grote but it was not in their current book. Here are a few pictures I hope it will help you. Good luck

Digging up this old thread.

Has it been determined what a part # for this stalk/switch is (the on John posted in post # 21)? And/or who made it? Going off my memory I'm pretty sure that's what my '89 has. My right turn signal doesn't work (hazards and Left work), and next week we're going to hopefully pick up the bus. I've got a trouble shooting plan down (mostly) to checking grounds, the flasher and relays, but if I need to replace the stalk, I'd like to know where to get one, as we only have a few days up in Oklahoma before we have to come back with or without the BB.

TIA!

OK,question.
You say the right side does not work?
Front and back,or just back?
or just front?

I would get a test light on the wires coming out of the switch to make sure it is the switch.

Neither front nor back on the right work when using the stalk/switch, left works as it should. If I turn on the hazard lights both front and rear, left and right work.

I will definitely test the stalk/switch.

Looking at the schematics it looks like if there was a problem with a relay, I still would have the other one working (front or rear) because there is a relay for each, plus the hazards work which uses the same flasher relay, and turn signal relays.

I think there can be some issues with the flasher relays when LED's are added, because there isn't enough amp draw to get it going. The PO (Brent) did install LED tail lights in the rear, but if that was the case then I don't think the left ones would work either. Plus he said he didn't have any problems with them.

I am pretty sure Blue Bird Customer Service, Bennie Collier, told me it was from a Volvo truck. Take the photos that John posted and print them and check with a Volvo truck dealer.

I will do the same and try To check with the Dallas dealer.

Bob,i have several used switchs here, from a 94WB,an 89SP,and they do not look like what John has.

i agree that the stalk itself looks the same, its the part that you can't see in the pics thats different on mine.
I'm thinking the part John has he got somewhere, and we have no proof it will fit his coach.
I think i talked with him about it once.
