Thumbs up Hey Fat!

I'm fat. Some you already know this. I'm likely prediabetic or beyond... I started doing a Keto diet, and eating once a day (supper). So far so good, lost 15 lbs and I love eating fat and meat every day! Last night was asparagus from the yard, bacon/jalapeno/blue cheese meatloaf, and mashed cauliflower (lots of cheese in it, very good), and some homemade cole slaw.

The hunger is pretty much gone all day now. 5pm hits and I'm ready to eat a horse, and I can! I love cooking and I am able to eat quite a bit on this diet, so I think I can continue this for a long time.

All a person needs is motivation. Each of us has a point where he/she finally becomes motivated enough. When I was 32 years old I had been smoking for better than 16 years. I tried quitting I don't know how many times, once it lasted for 6 months and a case came up at work and I was vulnerable and started up again. Anyway at 32 my girls asked me, "Dad why do you smoke?" I had no good answer, because all the reasons I had were stupid. It wasn't like eating to live, it was just stupid and instead of admitting I was stupid I made a deal with them. "I will quit if you two promise never to start." My oldest reached into my shirt pocket grabbed the pack and threw it in the trash and they both said, "Deal". All the previous attempts I made were not only extremely difficult but I failed miserably each time. This time, with the right motivation, it was the easiest thing I have ever done. I even lost weight when I did it and I haven't had a cigarette 43 years.

So, when each of us reach that point, where we realize we have more to gain than to lose, we need to grab that opportunity to make a change. We don't always get lucky and come to that realization until it too late. I personally am happy for anyone that can seize that moment and make a difference in their lives.

I have tons of meat left in the freezer. Still need some veg in the diet, but most of that's growing in the back yard.

This is the first year in some time Laura & I put in a garden. I had always had a garden before the back injury, but it was just painful until now. I also for the most part, am only having dinner to keep the weight down. badandy keep it going!
