Default Just bought my first Bluebird

I purchased a 1982 33' BB from a guy in Deleware. I have been wanting a BB since I was a kid and my Dad talked about them. After months of looking for one, I got on a plane last Saturday afternoon and flew to Philadelphia PA. Don (the seller) picked me up at the airport and we drove the 1 1/2 hours to his home in Deleware. We inspected the bus, did the paperwork, and I was on the road by 1 am as excited as a kid with a new toy. I drove straight through to Louisville KY (about 750 miles) though the mountains and arrived home 18 hours later. The coach did great. We will now start our rehab project. We plan to reupholster everything, put in new carpet and repaint. When completed she will be renamed "Sweet Melissa" I will keep you advised and appreciate any input.

Welcome to the site!!! You'll find tons of info here. There are a couple of rallies in the not too distant future (RATS and Maxton) that are relatively close to you. You should find it very worthwhile to attend either or both! Ask away and post your findings. Somebody will give you an answer!

Joe,
A friend of mine had looked at that coach a week or so ago. It appeared to be good drive train wise, but as you probably know it needs a bit of refurbishing iterior wise. The generator seemed like it was pretty much toast, but that is just an educated guess. The price was right and the owner was an honest guy, so I think you are on your way to a fine adventure. I know he did a lot of work on it and the new tires were icing on the cake. Good luck and keep us up to date on your work.
