Red face Shop that can install the Safe-T-Plus

Has anyone installed, or had one installed, on a 1989 WLWB? I am going to call Safe-T-Plus today but I figured if I had a specific example it would help. Also, I'm hoping to possibly have this installed by a professional near either Harrison, ARKANSAS OR Nashville, TENNESSEE on my way east to Myrtle Beach, SC.

I tried to order one from Camping world, They could not get one, Call Another company, they could not find the adapter for mine. So I would recommend you call safe T steer direct and you are having no luck getting one for your BB. They will sell you one. I though Randy was getting a dealership set up, never heard any more, he may have. When he gets back to civilization he will tell us.

Michael, I wouldn't worry until after you drove it awhile. I don't think my 88WB had one installed and it drove like it was on rails.

I am not sure if they all install the same, but one bracket on mine went on the spring bolts, and a backup socket was required on top, and the way it is made is a pain getting it in there and holding it. Everything else was pretty simple, but the nut is a locking nut so tight all the way off.

I use heavy zip ties to hold things up when installing/removing. Once installed just cut them... Just don't tighten them down too much. I will call them this morning about getting one.

Fairly easy install. No pit necessary. Block up coach well. As mentioned, check diameter of tie rod. there are 2 different sizes that I am aware of. Mine came from PPL in Texas. It came with the wrong tie rod bracket and U bolts. Too Small. PPL did not have correct ones. I got the correct ones direct from Safe-T-Plus. Some of my too small parts did fit John Heckman's coach.

Bought my mount kit from Henderson's Line Up in Oregon.

Installed it on my BMC myself. No experience on your model coach. Sorry.

I will wait until Randy gets back... which is easy considering I won't be back with my coach until the 25th of August anyway!

Plus, it should be easy with him helping me to make sure I get all the right parts the first time around.

Just installed a Safety Plus. Wow! I didn't think the ride could be improved a whole lot more on my 83' FC35, but I was wrong. My coach has had extensive upgrades from it's previous owner Ryan Saari and it drove beautifully, but I decided to get the Safety Plus mostly for safety reasons in case of a front blowout. I have young children and after doing some more reading, I started to concern myself with the possibility of a rollover. I'm always happy to spend money on doing thing's that will keep my family safe.

I can't believe how much better the bus steers and stays in a straight line with this thing. I know a lot of people were saying how awesome it is, but I have to tell ya - this is a MUST HAVE for those that don't have one. I was driving in Atlanta on the highway with cars all around me with no worry at all. When a large tractor trailer flew by me - there was zero blow by impact on me. Before I had the safety plus, I would have to anticipate the large trucks passing me. Just normal driving is so much easier now. As others have said - the device brings your bus back into a straight line and it provides a lot more stability and tension in the steering. The wandering effect is gone. I love it. Go get one.

They aren't cheap, but you should get one. I think it's money well spent.
