Just boarded the ferry to Prince Rupert. And it just broke down. 15 hours just became a lot longer...

I could fix the FC! I'm pretty sure I could repair the ferry too, if they'd let me at the engine.

They're flying in a new cylinder head. Should be under way in 6 hours.

Spring Salmon fishing season there now! My son caught a 30 lb Salmon from shore up there last week and I believe a couple more big ones today.

Cool weather and no smoke... Wish I was there now! Please post about your route etc., we will be surely do a similar treck.

But right now we are enjoying 1 mile in smoke as Northern Saskachewan burns up!

Matt:
Whew, well it is not your coach.
I wrote to Randy Dupree about your intended travel through Nass to Cranberry Junction. Is this still taking place?
I was looking at a brochure I found in our car and it mentions two RV parks, one at the triangle at New Aiyanish, and the second at Nass Camp.
Keep us updated with your travels, photos too please.

Well, we made it to Hyder ok, after 30 miles of gravel on the Nissan "Highway ". Dust all throughout the coach! In the drawers, cupboards, storage bays everywhere !
The lava beds were cool though, they go on forever.

We didn't get up to the glacier or see any bears, but we did get invited to participate in the Canada Day parade! The kids liked that.

Insanely good photos of an FC on the ferry, thanks! But where the heck are you?? I'm looking OK (oklahoma) and through the Queen Charlotte Islands (a place I want to go) am not easily picking up any links to Canada Parade.

But carry on , your pics are beautiful

Stewart BC is on the coast right at the bottom of the Alaska panhandle. We were on the ferry for a full 24 hours after the engine repair. The trip was scheduled to start at 7 am and end at 11 pm, so most folks weren't prepared to spend the night. People slept on the hard floor = no blankets or anything. We were lucky to be able to drag bedding up from the bus. They won't let you sleep in your camper, I guess since the last ferry is still at the bottom of the sea!
