Randy, my fishing club over here in the Fort Walton area heads to PSJ every August for our annual scalloping trip. We book almost every room in the Port Inn for that weekend but a half dozen of us spend a month a Presnell's fish camp in our RV's. I don't think you will have any problems keeping those sites rented.

For those who have never been there, Port St. Joe is truly a glimpse into "old Florida". It's a great locale and there's no greater outdoor enjoyment than taking kids scalloping in the most pristine bay in the state.

Congrats, Tracy and I will surely be on the prospective tenants list.

I didn't know you could get much more laid back than Bainbridge,Ga. If you get much more laid back you won't be able to get up....

I suppose if St. Joe gets to be too much for you, you can go to Wewahitchka... lol

I will be looking forward to visiting you down there. Oh yeah, get me something to visit in...

I'll be stopping through Port St. Joe periodically Nov-Feb for their high school soccer season. I make quite a few trips over there to see their matches from the best possible vantage point (on the field with the players). It's not a bad drive over from Panama City. I'll let you know when I'll be over and will be happy to pick up stuff from Wally World or whoever and deliver.

I'd like to know who did your pole barn, as I'm looking to get one 20x45 at my place.

The builder has a John Deere compact tractor with a fence post auger.
He augered the holes in,the auger is an 8'' one.
But the holes have to be 20inchs for the hurricane rules and concrete and rebar has to be used etc.

He says he has a 24'' auger, but on old homesites like this is,it just gets you into trouble, you never know whats been buried on these old beach lots.
So,he augers the 8'' hole and then makes the hold bigger with the MANUAL (man killer) post hole diggers.

The county has strict building codes, and the store bought "post holes" are not allowed,i think it has something to do with keeping the Post Hole Digger Union Hall open. The union hall is the bar down the street.
Its always political, even with post holes.

There was a house on this lot at some point, and we have found and destroyed a septic tank already.
8 holes were put with no problem, but the 8 for the other building all had concrete boulders in the way.
That area had been filled and we even dug up a 14 foot piece of 12'' steel pipe, like where did that come from?
The concrete did not have a finished surface anywhere,so we guessed that when the road (highway 98) was built or maybe when the new bridge was built the concrete company used this lot as a washout location.
Theres lots of concrete cow pies under this ground!

Thats ok with me,the ground is firm with all that down there, once we pour the parking pads it should be strong like Bull!

We will be going down today to check on the young bulls building the buildings, one of the guys is only 18yo,he came darn close to getting bear caught on Monday,he was hot and sucking down ice water like it was beer!
Pouring ice water over his head to cool off, thats not good practice down here in the heat and humidity.
We warned him several times about the excess water.
Finally the boss told him "if you get sick,i'm going to kick your butt too, because you didn't listen to me and the old man.
It took me a minute to realize he was talking about me!
Old man my butt!

But,the kid took it to heart and stopped the ice water for a while..
Ohh,it was hot,Carol and Molly were sitting in the truck with the engine running and the AC on.

Others may think that truck was running for Carol and Molly but we all know it was just Molly that needed the AC. Carol is tougher than most of us.
