I am temped to go back to the 3 way fridge with the new JC refrigeration back just to get it back on Propane. The only thing left in my coach that is gas is the cook top. It will take a year or two to use the gas. That and I could get the domestic fridge off the electrical system. Stretch the battries when I boon dock. As for destroying a perfectly good absorption fridge from an off level rig, guilty. I was a kid on my 3rd TT and I parked up in the mountains in the woods. No way it was level and I didn't think of the fridge at all. Second day it quit. Had a tech look at it and he told me I boiled off the ammonia. Heard years later i could have tuned it over or something and maybe fixed it. Just remember the cost of a new one. ouch.

It does. But there's also the 'will it fit through my door' question that has to be answered. With a residential fridge,you also have to figure out a solution to keep the door(s) latched when in motion.



Nothing that can't be figured out, though, but an option. The retrofits look to cost about as much as a new RV fridge, but probably less than a similar-sized residential unit. And I guess in a FC, one will probably never have enough battery capacity w/o a significant upgrade to the battery pack.

Yea, it all depends on how you are going to use your FC.. I do not do alot of boondocking so its not a big issue to me.. but if I decide I want to boondock more I can upgrade the batteries and add some solar and things will be all set.
As far as installing the fridge its not fun but they will fit.. have to remove doors on fridge usually. Mine is a smaller apartment style fridge so it fit in fine without removing anything.. just had to hold our tongue right.

As far as locking the fridge its pretty easy to fab something up.
