Default Connecting new regulator

My 96 has a 300 Amp alternator with a separate regulator.
What its charging the needle bounces around back and forth.
Based on advise on the site it was suggested that I have a faulty regulator.
I ordered a new one from an alternator repair shop.
My old one is a D443 with 3 connects NEG. Field POS
The new one is a D698 with 4 connections Ground, Field Bat IGN

I just want to double check the connections so I donn't blow anything up.

NEG = Ground
Field = Field
the new regulator can with a jumper
POS = Bat Jumped to Ign

Please let me know if I'm right

There is info here on wog about that regulator and another fix that required a new wire or removal of an old wire,or something.
Lots of us have replaced that big old oil cooled alternator with a smaller easier to get Bosch alternator.
Theres threads on that too.

Doug a quick thing you can try before you blow anything up, take a pair of jumper cables and ground the Detroit to the battery, sounds like your engine ground is bad it ties at same spot starter ground. You can use both red and black leads to make a good ground, just put both to ground. Randy is correct Bosch is a great upgrade.
