Joe,
I had been looking at them, but it is a little pricey. I figured I would have to go a lot of miles to make it pay. Since with a diesel you need two flow units, one for supply and one for return, it gets pretty expensive compared to a gas system.

Does it work with coaches that are not teal colored and not Canadian?

I would buy in on a group deal. Can it be wired into the backup monitor or a GPS monitor rather than a laptop? That would be ideal.

Will this unit work on a 3208??

I'd be interested, depending on the functionality it provides.

We use the VMSPC on our SOB. It is a great system. There are however some problems with the interface to your laptop. Silverleaf has stated that they do not really make a lot of $ on this unit. The software is free but light years behind today's computers and they did not want to put any more $ into the software. If you have an older laptop with a serial port the VMSPC simply plugs in. But if you have a newer laptop ( anything made in the last 4 or 5 years or so) an adapter is required to use your USB port. Some people have had problems with the adapters or maybe it is in their particular model of computer. Dont get me wrong it is a good device but they need to update the software. I have not been to their forum lately but I wonder how it would work with Vista? For those of you who are" engineer" types you can customize your gauges. Like the 40 Ford look, no problem, bar graphs, no problem. Becuase it can give you a constant MPG reading you can adjust your driving habits to get better mileage. I am sure a group buy would be available. I got mine from one of the fellows on the Bounder Forum. Does the DD 60 and the 8V92 have a diagnostic plug? Are they the same? You will need that information. BTW: Silverleaf also sells a permanently installed system. Pricey but no laptop is required. It was OEM on some high end MH's.

I almost forgot: Don Bradner was running this sytem in his previous Non BB MH. I dont know if he put one in his Bird. I am sure he can answer any questions. I told you it appeals to "engineer" types!!!

Your right Bruce. In nearly every instance where I have tried to apply that USB adapter thing it has caused problems. Luckly I had an old computer that wasn't USB. I think you can buy the old ones for a song and that would certainly be cheaper and less hassel than some alternatives. In addition you may get a bigger screen if you opt for the older computer rather than a monitor.

Another problem is trying to run mapping software and the VMSPC. I never even tried that. I di find that rebooting the computer will sometimes make the VMSPC behave. I also found out that I have to plug into the same USB port every time. Is it cool? You betcha. I bought a Jotto desk and keep the laptop there all the time. Even when we are parked. I did have to install a 110 volt outlet under the dash so the laptop will run on my inverter.
