Jekyll Island Campground

Enjoying a few days at the Jekyll Island campground with the 380, nice weather. Interesting to see the big container ship rolled over in the channel. Need to go have a closer look at it later on.

There was a fire on board, followed by another ship passing it closely, which may have set off a chain reaction of events that led to the capsizing... that's all they know. It's a big whale out there, I walked down the beach and had a good look at it earlier.

I'd say it is something about ballast but lawyer's will surely figure it out

It is a RORO roll on roll off car carrier, belongs to Hunday, they usually drop off new cars and machinery in Brunswick. No containers but still 4500 cars on board. Hoegh done a similar mishap in Southhampton a few years back, run on a sandbank (and crunched brandnew Landrovers and Jaguars.

We had a great time trekking in our electric bikes. It was very windy when we were there for a week in July.
