Care and Upkeep Let's face it, it has to be done. Have questions of what to do or how to do it, this is the place to talk about it.

Default Bird storage idea

After traveling for a bit and idea came to mind. How viable would RV storage be in Northern Florida?
Thinking of possible business options for myself and wondered about buying some land and putting both outside and inside RV/Bus storage.

We are fortunate enough to be able to keep our bus at our current home but I know several others are not so fortunate. Of those of you that have to /choose to use storage yards, would something in the northern part of Florida be of interest to you?

Would also like to hear from anyone that has or currently has such a facility on your thoughts.

Thanks!

There a several RV storage lots around Jacksonville, and more storage facilities going up, but, none offer power. Now, covered parking is hard to find, one of the outfits offers enclosed, 50amp for around $500.
Good Luck

Well if I were to do this venture, it would be closer to Pensacola or Tallahassee, not Jacksonville. I also wouldn't mind adding electric as an option to keep the battery chargers running.

Would have to do a bit more investigation. Will speak with a friend next week that has storage yards and see if this is a viable business plan or not.

Default Storage in Dothan AL

There is a storage place in Dothan that offers covered (not enclosed) RV parking in a secured lot. Each bay is fenced in 20x50, with 50A power available. Cost is $159/mo without power, $189/mo with power. 24/7 access via electric swipe card gate. They have about 20 bays, with only a few open at this time.

That is a good deal!

I don't see how any money can be made storing coachs and boats if you have to buy the land and fence it and do all that work.
I think you will need to be in a small town to get the zoning issues figured out too.
Unless you just have a small farm and store them at the farm?

After reading "old thread , good read on a cold day" , i would think you will also need really good insurance .

With that said , you can make a little money . But it would probably take a while to get your money back from the investment . How would running a storage lot work while traveling ? You would need someone you trust to oversee while ya'll are out exploring this great country .

All true. Just something I was thinking about is all.

Guess I could do what Randy is doing and just put up a pole barn or two and utilities and call it a day?
Biggest issue there is finding a suitable place where people would actually want to stay and would allow such a structure to be built.
