Default NEWBE I just bought my first Wanderlodge at Auction

https://www.proxibid.com/Vehicles-Ma...460&rfpb=0#Top

I just bought this unseen except that the auction said it has only 39,114 miles and was stored by an older couple who barely used it. Sold to settle an estate and unable to inspect I am taking a chance.

Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I plan to park it in Julian California to inspect and make any needed repairs and cleaning.

Thx for having this forum

John

Congrats and welcome. A classic mauve interior right down to the toaster. Looks like a thorough cleaning and you’ll be ready to go. But keep in mind these coaches are a lifestyle NOT an RV. Being in Julian, you should definitely consider a trip out to Quartzsite in Jan. A week spent there would be a great orientation to the lifestyle and you’d learn a ton about your new coach. Have fun with her!

Congrats

First thing I would do is check the air compressors coolant lines.
Located at the back of the engine.

Be prepared to replace when you do. Upon inspection they may crumble in your hands.

If they go on the highway, you may not be able to shut it dow fast enough.

Congrats! Also beware that she probably has 139,000 miles since it's got 3574 engine hours. It needs some TLC, but it's a great ride!

$14k? Is that really what you paid? Steal of the century there!

Welcome to the club. You are getting into a lot of work, and if like me, you might get to a point wondering why you ever did it. However, when you work your way through that, you will begin to appreciate the learning experience, and how incredibly well these buses are built. They are classics. I'd do it all over again. In fact, I did it twice.

You have almost limitless help here on the forum. Replacing old hoses is one of the best suggestions you could get. I must say that a more helpful group of people you will never meet.

Nice bus, I will trade you. Even if it was 239000 miles it would be a Deal.

Congrats!

I love the side bath.

Search the coach for receipts as this may help you assess what has already been done.

Check the date codes on the tires to see if you need new tires before you move the coach any distance at all.

If you have any questions, the guys here are amazing.

Good luck,

Diego
