I think the roll over protection continued through 1997,1998 was the first year not tested, but still built with the same standards as the older coachs.1998-2003 were the same.
I'm not sure how the 380s were built.
The 450's were stout, thats for sure.

They say they took a shell up on a mountain and rolled it down.
also, something I witnessed was a 1991 coach shell was being built,it had different windows in it than any bird ever built until that year, the windows were wider.
So,all the math was done, and everyone agreed that it was just as strong as any other bird, the wider windows would not hurt the roofs integrity.
so,on friday afternoon they placed a 3000LB coil of steel on the roof of the bus, over the window area.
This was done after extensive measurements were taken.
The following monday the steel was removed, measurements were taken, and the roof had not moved a fraction of an inch.
The math was good!

Randy,

Have you been nipping tonight????? LOL. Just kidding!

Along these lines, I once measured the deflection that the slide air seal inflation inflicts on the roof of an LXi. Remember that the air bladder exerts like 4000lbs of force on the roof. The deflection was less than a tenth of an inch!

Bill. I'm not nearly as geeky on real life! Yeah sure!

All BB Wanderlodges satisfy the requirements to be called a "Bus". A few years ago there were four manufacturers in North America that could call their product a "Bus". Silver Eagle, MCI. Prevost and Bluebird. I guess that there are now only two. MCI and Prevost. If you have a Bluebird, you have a "Bus".

Pretty sure Blue Bird still makes buses just as MCI and Prevost do.
They just don't make motor homes.
