We had planned on spending a month in Florida from the second week in Feburary. We left Versailles Ky Friday about 1:30. Was about 20 miles from Knoxville about 4:30 and the engine started bogging down. I got it to the emergency lane and when i went around back i see oil on the ground and on the car. I tried to crank the engine from the rear and it would not crank over. I called FMCA road service and they sent a wrecker ( two axle ) and it could handle the coach. About 11:30 we finally goy a 3 axle unit that could handle us. We got to Kenworth about 1:30 (open all night). They have a man that knows the Detroit. He came in Saturday morning and we started checking the engine. He pulled the oil pan and found it had spun a main bearing and locked up. We left the coach on their lot and came home Saturday afternoon. They are going to start looking for an engine monday and i am going to check around home and see what i can find. If any one has anyideas of where to look for an engine let me know.

Paul, Sorry to hear about your misfortune but there is a diesel engine exchange outfit on I-65 south of Louisville near the Brooks, KY exit. They are relatively new and have about an acre of diesel engines under shed roof. I am trying to find more info. Kenworth should be able to find something in Knoxville, it is a pretty big-truck friendly town. Good luck. You should also be able to find something in Lexington.
