The linkage going to the locks has been a problem for years, the plastic rod clips break and then you have to take the door panel off to fix it.
We also figured out ages ago how to put a screw or a weld in a few places to tighten up the action on the door latchs.
Theres a thread or two about that.

Lots of info here.

post 53 has some pics of the plastic clips.
somewhere in that thread you will find my fixes,a spot of weld or a screw tightens up the latch.

Had anyone looked for or found or know of a lock that can be put on the window so you have a emergency entrance but not need to leave it unlocked or slightly loose as it would be without the latch ?

To me if someone wants in bad enough they will just break the glass in the door or pry bar at the lock. Most crooks won't work hard enough to get into a bedroom window and won't even try one of them.

Hans showed me something a couple of years ago at WOG to allow you go get in. Drill a small hole just behind the latch on the door window. It allows you to put a coat hanger in and push on the window latch so you can open the window on the door, then you can reach in and unlock the door. I need to do this, but I usually keep a drill in my bays and my bays do not lock... so I can always do this in the event we get locked out.
