Default FinditParts.com

on July 23rd, I ordered a TPS, and 10 front wheel studs, both left and right, and lug nuts. in order to get free shipping I think the order had to be over 250 to $300, anyway and I think there was a 5% discount. The whole order was $302. The prices were the best I could find. It was promptly shipped and I got it less than a week, with two shipments arriving by UPS at the same time.
Problem, the 10 right wheel studs were not in the shipping list and were not in the shipping. OK someone made a mistake so I called the Friday it arrived and was told they would call me right back. Followed up with an e mail. Called again Monday, and was told they would check it out and let me know. Got the e mail at the bottom. Now I would expect they notify me as soon as they realized they did not have the item for sale and would say there was a problem but the items would be shipped later. But they ship with no calls and no explanation and no credit!! But here is what really gets me, they send me an e mail ad with the wheel studs in the ad. So they are really screwed up and don't know what they have or they screwed up and and do not want to send the studs in another shipment with the free shipping. And they have not issued a credit after two more follow up e mails.

It is only $76, and if I spend enough time I may get it back, but it is clear they have some serious problems with their system. I believe all products are outsourced, and I suspect the whole operation is run with a computer and maybe 2 computer geeks.

So if you deal with these people, be aware. There is no service.

------------

Hi Mallie,
I have looked into this and see part number W724 was cancelled due to the item not being available. I show a full refund for the item has been issued.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and please let me know if I can assist you further.

Thank you,
Jennifer Brack

1. Contest it with your Credit card Company.
2. Never do business with them again

I had a similar experience with them.
Ordered a bunch of Alcoa Lug nut covers. (They had a great rice on their web site) I hear nothing for like 2 weeks although they had charged my CC on the day I placed the order. 2 weeks in I get an email from them stating the item is out of stock but no refund is ever issued.

Contested this with CC company and won. Why would a reputable company need 2 weeks to figure out something is out of stock?? Answer ... They wouldn't!

I paid through PayPal, so I can fill a claim but I had hoped they would come through without. But the point is, they are not taking care of business. If a major trucking company is waiting for parts and this happen, not good. Not only they got your money, you have to make an order somewhere else and wait another week.
I would be willing to bet they already have an exit strategy with several domain names in the waiting. Kinda like filling bankruptcy in the real world.

We left on our 2016 summer trip a week late because we were waiting on parts that were supposedly shipped from finditparts.com but... were in fact never shipped!

I have purchased in the past but always received the parts,
Sometimes Findit was the only place to find an old part.
Maybe use them as a last resort.

This is the power of the Internet at work.
Lots of companies do this. It started with our old friend J.C. Whitney.
They do not stock anything. They pull from the manufacturer's stock with drop ship orders. The arrangement they have with the manufacturer is that everything they sell gets "case lot" pricing and free shipping. The first thing they do is charge your PayPal or credit card, then they pay the manufacturer net 30. They count on the manufacturer to stock the item never bothering to check. Like you said "two computer geeks in barn somewhere" no cash investment and therefore no skin in the game. The manufacturers put up with this behavior because it is free advertising for them and when things go south it's the vender who's at fault not them.
It's really not a bad way of doing business, if the vender is good. Jegs.com. One of our WOG favorites is built on that model and it works very well. Amazon.com carries it a little farther by using outside venders who have some stock (sometimes inconsistently). Think about it, selling something for cash, that you haven't had to buy (and therefore finance and wherhouse or even ship) then get to use the money for a month free. It's the perfect business model.
