Mat, You need to call HWH on Monday and ask for parts . I thought you had a 2000 ? I do not think it matters when it comes to springs . Now you are referring to the spring that retracts the Jack , correct ?

Measure the diameter and count the number of bands on the existing springs.

Attached is the directions to replace.

Matt,

Lon, the service manager at HWH told me springs rarely need replacing. When they do, they have often been in a salty environment. The problem is usually something else, like the solenoid valve. He also said never use silicone oil as it leaves a deposit that interferes with the seals. He said as last resort to use WD-40 if a jack won't go up all the way.

If you can get through to Lon, give him a call at HWH. Or perhaps someone here knows more about what can cause resistance.

they rebuilt the jack and all is well.

good point about the sticking valve Ron . Mat did you try to open them ? There should be a t on them or a white plastic valve if they are newer . Open them up and see if they retract .
