Unhappy Jake Quit

Driving down the road today everything was working great. Especially the Jake. It hasn't given me a single problem.
2 hours from our next stop I went to slow done, flipped the switch and the light didn't come on and no brake!
Tried it several time and pulled over shut down and restarted, with no results
Is there a fuse somewhere I should check

Thanks Guys

Often a jake that stops can be traced to a faulty TPS. Throttle Position Sensor. If the ECM doesn't know the throttle is closed, the jake will not engage.

I'm not sure that its the TPS as the light on the dash for the Jake isn't even coming on. If it was the TPS I would expect the light to come as if the Jake was ready, but not able to activate due to no signal from the TPS.

Maybe this will help, but on an LXI the Jake light only comes on when the Jake activates, and that only happens when certain conditions are satisfied within the DDEC Engine Brake logic - one of those conditions is TPS = IDLE.

If the DDEC Engine Brake logic is met, it activates the Jake, and also supplies ground for the light on the side panel.

So if the TPS is not working, then the DDEC Engine Brake logic will never be met and the Jake will never be activated, and neither will the light ever come on. So I agree with Peter, might want to check the TPS.

Again, this is how it works on an LXI, I would imagine it's similar on a WB. Here are a couple of diagrams I did as I was trying to figure out something else pertaining to Jake.

Foot on accelerator - Jake enabled but not activated:

Foot off accelerator - Jake enabled and activated

Clint, you are a marvel. All I can say is I wished I was smart enough to understand what you are saying. Guys like you and many others on this forum put me to shame and make me realize I have to be dumber than a box of rocks. I admire all of you guys that seem to seamlessly understand all of the intricate aspects of these coaches.

Definitely check the TPS, mine was causing random Jake inop. Verified by checking the error log on my Siverleaf. One thing I noticed was when the Jake was not working (engine side), the transmission would still downshift to 4th as usual, just no engine braking. Restart the next day would always allow the DDEC to reset...for a while. Easy fix; new TPS for $60ish.
