Default Jake Brake

Ever since we've had our LX there have been issues with the Jake. I have only the low or 3 cylinder position working. I would be happy with only the High sitting but not the low. Has anyone been into the wiring to determine which wires on the engine harness is the Jake wires and what needs to be done. It is not the throttle position sensor or the dash switch causing the problem.

Rick, wish i knew more, but I know nothing about Cummins, however, I would guess the jake is similar to Detroit, tho apparently yours just has to stages, still wire by BB. The stages are add as you probably know. The stage sw on the dash controls that function through a relay. If one stage works, it seems finding that relay is the starting point.

Rick, if you have trouble identifying the relay, have Roberta flip the stage sw with key on, while you listen/feel the relays out side.

Remember the relays we stole for the junkyard?
the small ones, about haft the size of a Bosch relay?
Thats the ones you need,i keep a handful of spares in my coach.
Does your coach have the diagram on that electronics bay door?
It will show the location of the relays.

I have the diagram and have swapped those relays around trying to find the problem. I guess I'll get me a handful of Yeager supplies and throw them in the spares bin.

What's the difference supposed to be in the settings?

Mine also seems to work only 1 way - regardless of where the switch is. The only way mine works when it is on is that it kicks the Jake on when I release the throttle. It immediately downshifts to 4th and the Jake slows me down. But, I do not know if its the 3 cylinder position or if its something else? How do you tell?
