I don't know, but i do know i don't want an air actuator on my front door.
if you use a car type, the regular door latch will work with it,i think.
i you tubed it and found a ford with the pull down latch,in the pics it sure looked just like the one GM used.

My minivan has the same thing like Doug suggested. I can open with the button, or just lift the handle up. Just get a totally minivan, pull out the door and motors and configure it that way. Easy peasy (sitting at a desk and not trying it, lol).

Some of the hatch back pull down motors are built into the gas shock looking thing.
but,i did look at the camaro pull down motor and it made me thing that i could add an actuator to the bear claw latch inside my door.
When the latch hits the striker pin it latches halfway, slam it and it latches all the way.
if i had a pull down motor on the bearclaw it would pull the door shut, without slamming.
Hmmm!!

Think power bay doors now that would be sweet and problematic all at the same time.

One consideration... I've never owned a vehicle with these fancy door closers, but I assume a total power failure would still allow them to at least open? It would suck getting trapped in a really bad situation.

Somewhat related story: We did a two-week inland Alaska trip two years ago, making our way from Fairbanks down to Seward then back up to Anchorage. We used several modes of transport for the trip, including a tour coach from Denali Park to Talkeetna. Along the way, about 30 minutes from our destination, a moose tried to hitch a ride in a most violent way. Ever seen a grown moose do a sideways pirouette on a road? Noooot a pretty sight. The driver did the best he could to avoid it (swerved into an empty oncoming lane, solid application of the brakes, kept the coach very much in control), but she hit the curb side front quarter, cracking the windshield and apparently jamming the door shut. We tried to release the locking mechanism, but it was under *significant* pressure due to the damage. Ended up having a stopped motorist help us out by pressing on the outside of the door to release the tension.

Anyway. Story time over. Very curious to see what you cook up here, Randy!
