Dumb question about refilling water: The PDF says this...

Water Bladder & Water Pump: For refilling coach water tank.

What does this mean? Does this mean shuttle water back and forth with your towed vehicle from in town or something else?

Eight water stations are located 1/3 mile from the usual Q parking area. Some of us bring a water bladder and water pump. The pump I bring is the same as what's in our coach (spare water pump if needed). The bladder holds 45 gallons. I have a Jeep JK...rear seats down, bladder laid out, fill bladder at one of the 8 water stations. Return to coach and use the pump to fill the coach. 12V power is supplied from the JK battery, long cord to the water pump. Some hoses to make this work. Keep it all in a container...and make a Q note to myself to bring it to Q.

I purchased the bladder at Camping World years ago. It looks like the one in the link https://www.campingworld.com/portabl...llon-1605.html

Or, when you go dump your holding tanks you immediately exit the dump area to the water stations.

OK that makes sense now, I just wasn't sure. Is the water from these stations generally OK to drink or is it bad stuff? I have a pretty good filtering setup and softener now and I keep the system inside the bus very clean and safe, and we drink/cook with it. The dogs like it, too.

Not sure on the good/bad. Maybe someone will chime in. We do wash vegetables, shower with the water. We don't drink it. Wife likes her bottled water...her husband likes beer.

Lots of people drink the water from the wells at the La Posa South. I have for years drank the water. I have never had it tested. I do have a water filter installed on the bus. Some drive into town and buy Reverse Osmosis water from a local vendor. Your call.

Any public supply well has to be tested and treated, does that make it fit to drink?

My thinking is fish have sex in that water,i'm not drinking it!

I also use the water for ice, but generally drink from large gallon bottles from Sam's club. It tastes a little off, is hard and it is treated (somehow) by the powers that be. Never been sick yet (after about 6 or 7 Q's) A softener really improves it.

Having sex in the water is mild compared to the other things fish do in the water.

But more on point. We fill out tank and use the water for showers, flushing toilet, washing dishes, even brushing teeth. But we buy the in town RO (reverse osmosis) water for drinking and cooking.

The Quartzsite well water is pretty rich in minerals and salts.
