Hello everyone,
We are former trailer campers that just purchased a 2001 43LXi a few weeks ago. It has really low miles and has been in climate controlled storage its whole life. We bought it on an online auction sight unseen based on hundreds of photos and the sellers word. We were relieved to find it as advertised when we picked it up. We then drove it from Nevada back to Louisiana as our first vacation in it. We love it (more importantly, she loves it.

Of course it has some minor issues that would be expected with its age. I will be posting questions in the appropriate areas soon. I joined after perusing the posts and I saw the atmosphere to be quite supportive and the shared pride of ownership displayed by the members.

I know I will benefit from your knowledge and hope to contribute to the knowledge pool.

Hi Michael; welcome to the WOG. That is a long first trip with no trouble.

I am a long-time Wanderlodge owner and just in August 2016, through Randy, we purchased a well-kept 1999 LXI from Herb & Jody Hood and have been most satisfied with the upgrade to the S-60 12.7 L Detroit and the Allison 4060 with the double overdrive transmission.

Mighty cold day here in central Missouri and I am standing by awaiting your first question.

Do not hesitate to ask questions as we all learn from each other. Best to ask just one or two questions at a time until we get to know each other.

Does your coach still have the Microphor air-operated toilet? How many slides?

Hi Dick,
Thanks for your help with the air filters. You're right to caution against too many questions. I could ask about a couple thousand . It does have the air flush toilet. That seems a little overcomplicated to me. Looking at the microphor manual, it appears the air activation lever just triggers an electric switch. Seems like you could replace the air lever valve assembly with a switch and eliminate the need for air to execute a flush. Am I thinking correctly on this?

Only one slide. Our wish list was for at least 2, but we were smitten with this coach.

Welcome Michael. You'll find these people are one of the best reasons to be a Bird owner...past or present!

Learn to use the search feature, as after all these years most information is here........somewhere!

I would start a new thread for each issue........ and hurry up and get one of the limited number of spots for the Lovebirds rally...if there is any left. No one is a stranger at any of the rally's and that's where the fun is!

Michael Welcome to the WOG and congrats on your purchase. We too are the proud owners of a 99 LXI and absolutely love it. We were a bit overwhelmed at first trying to get acquainted with our coach and learn all the different systems. The search tool here on the WOG will be your best friend. The WOG has more info than any place else.

As for your Microphor air-operated toilet let me know. I'm happy to share what we have been through with ours as well as the remedies. Safe travel my friend and enjoy. Look forward to meeting you all.
