Default Anyone know this Coach 1985 named One Putt)

Im new to the forum and I'm looking for a 8v92 or 6v92 Bird. I found this 1985 for what looks like a good price and was wondering if anyone knows this coach.

I'm waiting on an e-mail back from the owner so I do not have many details. I think 6v92 was the only option in 85.

I would much rather have an 8v92 but would settle for a 6 if the price is good. Here are the only details I have on the coach.

1985 Bluebird Wonderlodge 40 ft Detriot V8 Diesel . In motion satellite.
Coach needs a set of batteries and repairs on generator radiator kohler 7.5. as is for $26,000.00

Looks nice! The paint must be pretty new?

As a datapoint, I paid $23.4k for an '83 PT - 35 a year ago August. Not sure if 35's are worth any less than 40's. Probably at this vintage it doesn't make a difference. Mine is a pusher w/ tag.

It had pretty new paint (six years), stored indoors and still needed a fair amount of work to bring things up to snuff. Mine also had a new engine from Detroit (20k miles) and a rebuilt trans (30k miles) The carpet (became hard floors) and upholstery (redone) was dated, I reconfigured the back bedroom to put a cross-coach King instead of the twins, reconfigured the water tanks, quite a bit of wiring, a new inverter. It also needed tires within a year. Altogether, I'm into another $15k with the new tires. Those alone are worth $5k.

Hope that information might help you in some way.

Doug

Doug, thanks for the numbers. I've heard frequently that a "new" coach will usually need about $10,000 to bring it up to snuff. Looks like you were somewhat higher than that, but the $10,000 is probably an average.
