Default Safe-T-Plus,new appilcation,steering tag axle

Ihave been working on my 2000LXI steering tag axle, the factory steering damper is worn out and they are no longer available.
Theres nothing out there that will bolt right on and i'm working on a "kit" to replace the old damper with a newer, better one.

In my quest i contacted Safe-T-Plus and they have been a pleasure to talk to.
The receptionist did her best to help me and she did pretty good, until my questions got a little more detailed.
She promptly got a tech guy on the phone and we have tossed a few ideas around and last night i woke up with an easy way to mount one of their units on my coach.

I THINK.

The tech guy has even offered to drive down here and help me design a mount, talk about service!

Stay tuned for more on this.
I love my steering axle, and i think we can make them work better than new.

Since mine is currently in "bypass" mode, i.e. welded and locked, I am keenly interested in getting it to work.

Ron,i also plan on moving the air control valves into the engine bay,so they are easy to access and test.
All i need to do is extend the air lines and the wires, then i can add indicator lights that tell me when the axle is locked etc.
easy stuff.

Smile I want one

I have been thinking about installing one since Wilson's blow out.

If I do not have one installed before you work out a group deal, count me in.

I am considering putting one on before June for my trip to Shipshewana.

I don't mind attempting to install it myself, if I have someone that is knowledgable to bail me out in case I am over my head.

Default Safe T Plus

found one in the basement on my coach, Brand New in the box with brackets, I best get on it. Is it possible for a skinny guy to get under there with every thing dumped no ramp?

Randy, you might see if we can get a WOG deal with them.
I agree and it would be a great benefit to the group, however I have already tried. Not to discourage anyone else from trying but I went there in person a couple of years ago and they told me they are now wholesale to dealers only. They fondly remembered going to the Rally In The Valley each year, years ago, but they out grew the capability to both manufacture and install. They now sell their products through RV dealerships and Camping World and do not sell direct. I was looking to get a group rate, including installation, at the annual WOG rally but they could only offer to put me in touch with a local dealer. Bummer.....

Mallie, were you having a problem with your coach? Mine drives like it's on rails.
Now I need to go look. Maybe it's already installed.

Randy,

You already are ...a WHEELer-dealer!

You're the man!

If they are looking for character references, I'm guessing there are a thousand or more of us here that will vouch for you!

... A real character.
